Even in its launched state, this site will be a work in progress as we learn more about how businesses expect to make the most of the resources available through RBN. We look forward to being a part of RBN’s evolution.

Previously, we were using Wire Transfers, which cost between $30-40 each, requiring us to be present at the bank to initiate the transfer (during their hours, of course). Each transfer took 20-30 minutes to initiate, and would take at least 24 hours to settle.

Xoom.com – $4.95 for any transfer, 24 hours per day and fund transfer between international accounts sometimes as quickly as an hour!

We can’t recommend this service enough for anyone who needs fast, reliable domestic or international money transfers. Hope someone gets some use out of this

Ardmore is a very professional business that provides critical services to very large companies. They needed a site and a more cohesive brand that both matched and communicated the strength of their market position and their overall industry value. Ardmore is an industry leader, and they deserve to look like what they are. We had a lot of fun getting them there, and we’re confident their investment in our services will pay for itself quickly.

This launch coincides with the announcement that George Clinton (Parliament) will be playing at the Water Street Tavern Sunday, February 20, at 8 p.m. If that doesn’t grab your attention, I don’t know what will!

The biggest problem we’ve seen when presenting layouts strictly as images is the client’s computer or browser will resize them to make them fit the screen. If the client doesn’t realize it, and this will affect the quality of your product and the feedback you receive. Also, there is no point of reference for discussing layouts when more than one are presented at the same time.

So we made this little script, which places layouts as background images, and gives the client controls to view multiple versions. It’s not fancy or particularly versatile. It’s not even all that nicely coded (it’s “rough” code that could easily be refactored). But it works really well!

The elements within the page are easy to customize, assuming you have a strong knowledge of CSS and a little JavaScript background. The version we’re sharing is visually generic, and we encourage you to make it your own. Take a look at what one of our colleagues and friends Sam Asante did with this script!

Three areas in particular are  going to be big for us:

1. Web Hosting –  We are in the final stages of creating a whole new business venture dedicated entirely to Web hosting. Currently, we’re operating two production (shared/reseller) servers. With new focus and new partners, we’re looking at growing this part of our business significantly over the course of the next 12 months.
2. Design Packages – Our design packages are not for everyone, but for those clients who’s needs match these offerings, they have proven to be a real winner! The response we’ve received in the first couple months has been overwhelmingly positive, and we intend to grow this business channel as well.
3. Web Applications – We have a handful of  applications in the works that we intend to offer both on a subscription basis and as one-time purchases, which we believe both current and future clients will find to be very exciting! More announcements will follow as we get ready to roll them out.

So Gary has this great product, and he had a very sad site, the type of site that can only be produced by a cheap sitemaker product (yes, he was using one of those), a site that had no chance of improving in search engines and made his otherwise very professional product look cheap and unappealing.

We aimed to change that, and I think things came out quite nicely! You can’t see the old site anymore, so you’ll have to take our word on how bad it was. But you can see the the new site right here – HappyFaceYoga.com. Enjoy!

As you can imagine, we had quite a bit of fun working with Ashley and Felicity, the owners of  Wady & Young. These are highest quality professional coordinators and managers, and their events are second-to-none. We highly recommend checking out their services!

So, what’s different? For starters, this new design is much more visually oriented. We’ve done some pretty darned good client work recently, but we haven’t really done a good job of showcasing it on our own site. This new site is dedicated to our clients, with an extensive collection of portfolio pieces, home page screenshots, testimonials and new case studies all over the place.

It’s tough to take care of your own properties when you’re concentrating so hard on client work, but I think the new site launch is going to pay off. We’ve been looking at this new design for almost five months now, and we’re not sick of it yet. That says something, I think…
